On 8 September 2015, the UN General Assembly held an informal interactive dialogue on the subject of “A vital and enduring commitment: Implementing the responsibility to protect.” The annual dialogue was informed by the UN Secretary-General’s seventh Report on the Responsibility to Protect, addressing the same theme. A total of 1 regional organization (the European Union) and 69 member states spoke on behalf of 89 countries.

Following presentations by the President of the General Assembly, H.E. Mr. Sam Kutesa (Uganda), and the UN Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Ban Ki-moon, interventions were delivered by member states and civil society organizations.
