The People’s Coalition for the Sahel is an informal and diverse alliance of civil society organizations, including the Global Centre for the Responsibility to Protect, that amplifies Sahelian voices and expertise to urge governments in the Sahel and elsewhere to resolve the conflict and humanitarian crisis in the Central Sahel.
On 22 June the People’s Coalition for the Sahel released a progress report on the situation in the Central Sahel entitled “The Sahel: What has changed.” The report analyzes what has changed for civilians over the past year since the release of the first report, measures the progress made in the protection of civilians, the fight against impunity and respect for human rights and the humanitarian response, and provides updated recommendations for the attention of Sahelian decision-makers and their international partners.
