Resolution
On 17 December 2015 the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution 70/172 (119 in favor, 19 against, 48 abstentions, 7 non-voting) condemning the systematic, widespread and gross violations of human rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), including those that amount to crimes against humanity; encouraging the UN Security Council to refer the situation to the International Criminal Court; and recalling that the DPRK government bears the responsibility to protect its population.
