Resolution 34/24 (DPRK) A/HRC/RES/34/24

24 March 2017

On 24 March 2017 the UN Human Right’s Council passed its first resolution on the human rights situation in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) to include R2P language. Resolution 34/24 reaffirms that the government of DPRK has the primary responsibility to protect its populations from crimes against humanity. The resolution also condemns the widespread and systematic commission of crimes against humanity in DPRK and the rampant impunity for perpetrators.
