On 15 September Global Centre Research Analyst Jahaan Pittawala delivered remarks during a panel discussion on bridging the accountability gap in Yemen on the sidelines of the 48th session of the UN Human Rights Council. In her remarks Ms. Pittawala explored the international, multilateral and jurisdictional gaps and impediments to justice in Yemen, including the reluctance of the UN Security Council to act on accountability through both the sanctions regime and the International Criminal Court. The event was co-hosted by a large group of NGOs, including the Cairo Institute for Human Rights Studies, Mwatana for Human Rights and the Global Centre.
