On 1 June Global Centre Executive Director, Dr. Simon Adams, delivered the Day 1 keynote address at the “Responsibility to Protect in Theory and Practice” Conference. This year’s conference was hosted by the International Justice and Human Rights Unit of Edge Hill University in coordination with the University of Ljubljana, the European Centre for the Responsibility to Protect and the British International Studies Association’s Working Group on Intervention and the Responsibility to Protect. Dr. Adams’ remarks focused on how despite setbacks in international action, there are always those working to end atrocities and achieve justice.
